Supply Air Ventilation (SAU)
Designed to provide a comfortable indoor climate with controlled heating and filtered, clean indoor air.
What is Supply Air Ventilation (SAU)?
SAU (Supply Air Unit) ventilation is a mechanical ventilation system that delivers fresh, filtered air into indoor spaces using a fan, without extracting stale air or recovering heat—ideal for improving air quality in commercial areas such as warehouses, workshops, offices, gyms etc. Contributing to a comfortable indoor climate, commercial Supply Air Units from BEAM help provide clean indoor air for building occupants.
Regulatory Compliance
Effectively ventilate smaller commercial properties to comply with building ventilation requirements.
Health benefits
Continuously supplying fresh, filtered air to your property reduces asthma and allergy symptoms.
Easy Operation
The wall mounted controller supplied with the system allows settings to be changed as required.
Supply Air Ventilation Units
Our Axco HERU Supply Air Units heat and filter air before supplying it into indoor spaces using energy-efficient fans and optional electric heating in smaller commercial premises such as warehouses, workshops, stairwells and workstations.
SAU Unit Options
BEAM's Axco Heru SAU Range includes 3 unit options, each with different size duct connections: SAU 125, SAU 200 & SAU 250.
Benefits and Features
- Improved indoor air quality - Fresh air is drawn in from outside, filtered and supplied into the building while stale air is pushed out through natural leakage points to reduce humidity.
- No need to open windows - Avoid cold draughts while enjoying the benefits of fresh, filtered air. This also prevents pollutants from entering the building.
- Energy savings - The system provides high heat efficiency and the 'Away' function on the controller helps to minimise energy use when the building is unoccupied.
- Prevents condensation and mould growth - Fresh, filtered air dilutes stale, moist air and pushes it out of the building through natural leakage points, helping to prevent condensation and mould.
- Increase in productivity of occupants - Studies show improving indoor air quality by providing adequate ventilation can increase productivity as it reduces tiredness and fatigue.
- Low sound levels - Airflow is generated by a silent radial fan with EC motor, impeller with backward curved blades.
- External control unit - For operating and to pre-set the required temperature as well as monitor the unit’s status.
- Easy to clean - The unit is constructed from galvanized steel sheet and insulated with an easy to clean 30 mm fiberglass.
- Filter ISO ePM1 50% - Filter comes as standard and is very easy to change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to your most frequently asked questions about our mechanical ventilation systems.
Where should SAU systems be installed?
SAUs are ideal for communal areas, stairwells, corridors, plant rooms, small commercial units, and spaces where air extraction isn't required.
How often should SAU units be maintained?
Regular maintenance is recommended every 6–12 months, including filter replacement and inspection of fans and controls.
How noisy are SAU systems during operation?
SAUs are designed for quiet operation, making them suitable for use in occupied areas like offices or classrooms.
Do SAU systems meet UK Building Regulations?
Yes, Beam SAUs are compliant with current UK Building Regulations (e.g., Part F for ventilation) and meet relevant CE/UKCA and ISO standards.
How energy-efficient are SAU systems?
SAUs use energy-efficient EC fans and low-power motors, making them cost-effective to operate while improving indoor air quality.
