Air Cleaning System at leading Irish Stone Processor

StoneFacings are a leading supplier of granite, marble and quartz in Ireland. The family business based in Mullingar holds an impressive stock of over 6000m2 to cater for the needs of private and commercial clients throughout Ireland.

The company can provide a wide range of product including tailor-made stone fireplaces, worktops and cladding using their advanced cutting, profiling and polishing machinery in-house.

Company MD, Owen Horan, has developed source control of dust during the machining operations using custom-made water abatement techniques which has ensured a clean and safe working environment for his staff. However, always looking for improvements, Owen began researching air cleaning systems to see if there was a suitable solution for the production areas.

Following the initial enquiry and objective to constantly ventilate the area and remove any residual fugitive airborne dust, Beam engineers visited the site and established a specification for a high capacity air cleaning system. 

Beam’s solution was to provide 2 No. Coral Air Towers with a total capacity of 40,000m3/h. The Air Tower units are available with both variable speed control and Hepa filtration, both of which were selected by the client.

A big advantage for StoneFacings was the option to fit dust sensors which then control the ventilation rate to maintain airborne dust levels to a minimum threshold, thus maximising airborne dust control and energy efficiency.
