Commercial Central Vacuum for Hotel House Keeping

We were proud to supply & install a high powered commercial central vacuum system for Ireland’s first Hyatt branded hotel.

As part of the Hodson Bay Group, this modern 4* hotel is the latest in their range of luxury hotels to have a commercial Beam Central Vacuum System installed, the other hotels being:

• The Galway Bay Hotel
• The Sheraton, Athlone
• Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone

Located in the historic ‘Liberties’ area of Dublin, the Hyatt Centric Hotel offers cutting edge technologies and is bursting with character.

After recent regeneration of this colourful and dynamic district, ‘The Liberties’ is where Old Dublin meets New Dublin. Historic attractions such as the Guinness Storehouse and Christ Church Cathedral sit side by side with the bustle of premier shops, restaurants, and theatres.

Home to many famous personalities, such as Imelda May, Brendan Grace and members of the ‘Mrs Browns’ Boys’ cast, this is also an area steeped in the arts and culture.

One of Dublin’s newest and most modern hotels, the Hyatt Centric Hotel sits within the heart of this area and boasts 234 guest rooms, with immediate views of Dublin’s bustling city centre.

The hotel features a state-of-the-art gym and social spaces from which guests can enjoy a wide range of restaurant, bar, café and lounge options, in addition to an expansive conference space for external events.

In consultation with John Paul Construction, the specification brief was to provide a highly durable, low maintenance, commercial built-in central vacuum system that could be simultaneously used by up to 10 operators from the housekeeping team, with the aim of reducing cleaning time normally spent using portable vacuums.

It was also of key importance to the client that the system offered power on demand with continuous suction for consistent cleaning performance.

To fulfil the brief, we supplied and installed 3 Beam commercial U3-Matic 5.5Kw vacuum units with integrated speed & pressure controllers to independently control each motor according to total demand.

Due to the impressive scale of this project, it required over 2,000 meters of smooth flow vacuum ducting and more than 3,000 metres of heavy-duty LV signal cable.

A total of 141 flush-mounted chrome inlets were installed strategically within the hotel for optimal operational efficiency.

This Commercial Central Vacuum System is now an integral part of the hotel’s housekeeping duties and has proved highly valuable to both the hotel and staff.

Staff love the convenience of the system as there is no hassle of carrying a heavy vacuum around or tripping over portable vacuum wires. The system is also easily accessible by multiple users simultaneously and has very low maintenance, which has led to increased productivity, and up to 30% reduction in annual housekeeping budget.

Guests benefit also – as noise is eliminated at the point of cleaning, guests can also enjoy a peaceful stay and are not disturbed either in their rooms or communal areas. Better still, there is no dust or dirty air circulated from room to room – which means improved indoor air quality throughout the hotel.
